views from the top: griffith TRAILS

Hiking is one of my favorite activities to do when I’m not feeling like myself.

The total distance hiked was 6 miles and I completed it a little over 2 hours.

My goal today was to make it to the Tom LaBonge Panorama.  You can literally see all of LA Proper from up there so it’s one of my fav destinations when I do hike.  Starting in Griffith Park, I took the trail up to the Observatory.  Since it’s a tourist attraction, there’s always an eclectic mix of people present which I enjoy seeing one my way up to LaBonge.

The effort and time it takes to get to the top allows for me to release all the negative feelings I may have had prior to.

It sounds cliché but it’s truly magical up there and it’s almost as if time slows down for a minute.

While there I take in the tranquility of my surroundings, breathe and simply be present in the moment.

Afterwards, I cut my rap music on and trap back down the mountain 😎.

SIDENOTE……make sure you wear sunscreen!  Also, make sure you pack some to reapply cause that Cali sun is something else.  It was maybe 80 degrees and I still got a heavy tan and a slight sunburn.
